“Great Expectations” Open House: - Thank you to all the LMI parents, students and staff who participated in the “Great Expectations” Open House on Thursday, May 28, 2016! Parents don’t forget to check for any book fines/fundraiser fines or TDAP immunization verification requirements which will cause your child to miss out on the End of the Year Activities! Please call us at (323) 722-7262 for more details.

Disneyland: - Disneyland permission slips will be distributed later this week. Candy sellers who finish selling 3 boxes of Pretzel Sticks have earned enough for their ticket and bus ride. Students with their own Disneyland ticket or season’s passes will only need to pay $5.00 for the bus, and those who are not fundraising will need to pay $80.00. Qualified participants need to bring their money, cash or money order only, and their permission slip. Those students who have their own Disneyland ticket or annual pass must bring in their pass with $5.00 for the bus.

Disneyland Fundraiser: - Those 8th graders who have checked out fundraiser Chocolate Pretzel Sticks to help pay their Disneyland ticket please remember that the deadline to get all money in is May 20th. New sellers need to get started ASAP.

Washington D. C. Meeting: - Washington D. C. participants need to attend a brief meeting every Tuesday, in C-3 at the beginning of lunch. We will take attendance. These meetings are only 10 minutes long! BE ON TIME.

Student Council Meeting: - Student Council Meeting will meet at 7:45 a.m. in C-3 Tuesday, May 3rd. Classes involved in testing will not be in attendance.

If you are in ICES and would like to attend the meeting, please ask your coach for permission. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Remedios.

New and Replacement ID’s: - Any new student to LMI who needs an ID can come to C-3 to have their photo taken. A new ID will be issued once this process is followed. For students who have lost their ID a replacement will cost $3.00 and must be paid for at the time the order is placed. Come to the student store in C-3 for any ID problems!

Box Tops for Education: - Continue to save and turn in your Box Tops for Education. Print your grade level on the back and bring them to C-3. You earn 10 spirit points for your grade level for each box top you turn in.

Fines: - All students are reminded that if they owe money to ASB for the Helen Grace Fundraiser, library books or textbooks, or owe money to the cafeteria, please pay fines as soon as possible as students who owe money will lose end of the year activities. Fines’ lists were provided to your teachers. Cafeteria fines are paid in the cafeteria. Helen Grace fundraiser and library book fines are paid in C-3. Lost textbook fines are paid to Mrs. Vera, the principal’s secretary in the main office.

LMI T-shirts: - Room C-3 has LMI t-shirts on sale daily in the student store. Come by and take a look. We are now tallying Fridays’ Spirit Points for anyone wearing an LMI t-shirt, Julia T-shirt, AVID, Pathways, Band or Dual Club jackets or clothing, lanyards, dog tags or sack packs! This goes for both staff and students. Prices are $10.00 for regular shirts, $16.00 for baseball sleeve shirts, and $23.00 for LMI Hoodies.

Vending Machines: - Please remember that the vending machines are NOT change machines. Get your change in C-3. If there is a malfunction with the vending machines, refunds are given in C-3 at the student store. When you report a refund we will mark the time of the refund and compare it to the vending log report as this will verify if the machine malfunctioned. So please be honest!

Equipment Check Out: - Remember that equipment is available for check-out during nutrition and lunch from C-3. In order to check out equipment during nutrition and lunch, your student ID must be left in the pocket hanger. Don’t forget to take your ID with you once you return the equipment. Students, please be reminded that if you play too closely to the C-building and choose to kick the ball, it will end up on the C-building roof. These playground balls are to be used for handball, dodgeball or 4-square and are not made to be kicked! Board games will not be out if students continue to bang sticks.

Yearbook Pre-Sales: - The pre-sale of our 2016 Trojan Yearbook has now begun. The pre-sale price is $38.00. We accept cash or money orders only! Remember we only order 300 yearbooks so order yours early and pay less. Remember, you can order online and pay using a credit card. We also have a limited number of 2015 yearbooks.
